VI — Visual Impairment

Types of Need

Partial or total loss of vision. May require specialist VI teachers, large-print or braille materials, adapted environments and assistive technology. Children with significant VI typically have a Qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (QTVI) as part of their provision.
